But for those of you still using an Apple TV 1, it is also possible to install Kodi onto the device. In this case, you’ll be using a software called OpenElec and you won’t be able to install XBMC as a separate channel on your set-top box but instead you’ll need to install XBMC as a stand-alone operating system on it. It was discontinued by Apple way back in 2010, and three versions of the device have since been released. XBMC on Apple TV 1st Generation The process is a bit complicated for Apple TV 1 users. I think KODI will be soon in TvOS appstore but you have to wait. The first generation of the Apple TV is no longer available in shops or online. But if y'all had watched the Keynote this year the vice president said they will let other developers work on it and create apps for it. Apple tv is really good product but it have bunch of limitations. I rather buy that than buying apple tv 4th get (plus they still need to add some features. Plus the graphics on that are way better than apple. ![]() ![]() In other words i would simply go to best buy and spend my money on Nvidia Shield Tv Which is way better than apple tv but cost a little bit higher but its android base. Well after listening to both of you (ProTodd & RealisticExpectations) I have been using KODI A.K.A for a long time and i think apple might let them use it this time maybe or maybe not.
